Weavr Teams Up with Visa to Revolutionise Employee Benefits for HR Tech Platforms

2 Mins read

Weavr, an embedded finance company, has announced its Associate Membership with Visa, signalling a significant shift in how HR technology platforms can deliver employee benefits. This partnership will enable SaaS providers to seamlessly integrate Visa-powered financial products, tapping into a rapidly expanding global market for discretionary employee benefits, estimated at $162 billion annually in Europe alone.

The collaboration positions Weavr as a key embedded finance partner for Visa in Europe, empowering HR tech companies – from benefits platforms to workforce management tools – to offer integrated financial solutions directly within their existing software. This move addresses a growing trend among employers globally, who are moving away from static, one-size-fits-all benefits towards more flexible, personalised, and spendable employee allowances.

“Embedded finance is fast becoming an important tool for businesses that want to deepen relationships with their customers,” said Mark Wilcocks, VP Product and Solutions, Visa UK & Ireland. “Weavr is paving the way for HR platforms to simply integrate these solutions, and we’re excited to enhance this offering with our Visa-powered products.”

Simplifying Financial Integration for HR Platforms

Integrating financial services can often be complex for technology companies. Weavr and Visa aim to simplify this by providing a ready-to-integrate solution. Weavr’s multi-FI (financial institution) embedded finance model offers broad geographic coverage and a rich set of financial products through a single contract and integration point.

Alex Mifsud, CEO and Co-Founder of Weavr, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership. “Our membership with Visa signifies a shift in the deployment of embedded finance: it’s not just about adding payments, but about enabling entire propositions and business models in sectors like HR tech,” he explained. “By joining Visa, we can provide SaaS platforms with the confidence and capability to launch card-based employee benefits, supported by trusted infrastructure ready to scale.”

This integration offers clear advantages across the HR ecosystem:

  • HR tech platforms gain a straightforward solution to offer flexible benefits cards, backed by Visa.
  • Employers can deliver smarter, personalised benefits without the need for manual spreadsheets, receipts, or reimbursement delays.
  • Employees benefit from greater flexibility and real-time control over their allocated funds, enhancing their overall experience.

Research from Weavr indicates a strong demand for such features, with 89% of B2B SaaS platforms reportedly developing or considering integrated payment solutions, from card issuance to embedded billing. By working together, Weavr and Visa aim to make these advanced capabilities accessible for HR platforms looking to meet the evolving expectations of employees and employers alike.
